Neuralink

Neuralink, founded by Elon Musk in 2016, is developing a "sewing machine-like" device that plants threads into the human brain.

The device is currently made up of a chip planted behind the ear that's connected to a thousand minute threads that will pierce the brain at varying depths. The threads will read neuron activity, and, they say, allow a person to control a computer with their thoughts.

The company's first goal, they say, is to help paralyzed patients interact directly with computers interfaces.
